Peso Pluma is a Mexican singer, rapper, and songwriter. He is known for his collaborations “El Belicón,” “Siempre Pendientes,” “AMG,” “PRC,” and “Ella Baila Sola,” the latter with regional Mexican group Eslabon Armado. “Ella Baila Sola” was the first regional Mexican song to reach the top 10 of the Billboard 100. His music is characterized by corridos, with urban music, trap, and reggaeton elements. He is nicknamed “La Doble P.”

His father is of Lebanese descent. His mother’s family is from Badiraguato, Sinaloa. He was raised in Guadalajara, and also attended high school in San Antonio, Texas. His stage name means “featherweight,” referring to the boxing division.
